YouTube Surpasses 100 Million U.S. Viewers

According to comScore, YouTube has just exceeded 100 million U.S. viewers for the very first time.

According to the January 2009 data sent out by the comScore Video Metrix service today, more than 147 million U.S. web surfers watched an average of 101 videos per viewer in January. More than 76 percent of the total U.S. web audience viewed 14.8 billion online videos.

For as yet undisclosed reasons, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has cancelled his appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

A spokesperson for the show has confirmed that Vick’s reps called late yesterday to cancel his appearance for “personal reasons.” Oprah Winfrey‘s interview with Vick was set to air tomorrow (Thursday).

“After careful consideration, I will need to postpone the taping of the Oprah Winfrey interview,” Vick said in a statement. “I admire and respect Oprah and hope to be able to participate in an interview in the future.”

Oprah was hoping to discuss Vick’s time in jail, his work with the Humane Society, and comeback in the NFL.

Vick missed two seasons and served a year and a half in federal prison on dogfighting charges, but was reinstated in the NFL for the 2009 season.

Back in January of 2007, cheerleaders from McKinney North High School in Texas got themselves in a heap of trouble. Tonight, their story hit the airwaves as the Fab Five Texas Cheerleader Scandal ran on Lifetime.

Back in 2007, the scandalous photos were posted on MySpace. One portrayed girl wearing a bikini sharing a bottle of booze with one of her friends. Another one showed a cheerleader and several other girls in some questionable poses showing off their panties.

The most controversial photo of them all was shot in a Condoms To Go store. It depicted five cheerleaders posing with large candles shaped like penises. One of the cheerleaders was pretending to perform fellatio on one of the candles.

The story made it to television thanks to their coach, who sold the story to Lifetime television. I know, a coach sexually exploiting a student. Who has ever heard of such a thing? lol

Black Eyed Peas Tie Mariah Carey Chart Record

Now that it has been at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart for a 14th week, the Black Eyed Peas single “I Gotta Feeling” has matched Mariah Carey’s 2005 hit “We Belong Together” for the longest Number 1 streak of this decade.

The band has now been sitting on top of the charts for 26 consecutive weeks, with “Boom Boom Pow” resting at Number 1 before “I Gotta Feeling” for 12 weeks. The Black Eyed Peas now become only the second act in the entire 51-year history of the Hot 100 to stay at Number 1 for more than half a calendar year.

The only other act to achieve the feat was Usher, who spent 28 nonconsecutive weeks atop the charts back in 2004 with four different singles.
